Audi, has unveiled the all new R8 Spyder V110 Plus. The all-new model is more powerful and stylish than the existing R8 V10 Spyder. The added features with improved power refinement makes Audi R8 V10 plus looks like a good package.
The new R8 Spyder V10 Plus is powered by the same mid-mounted naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine which is famous for being Audi’s most powerful series-production engine The Plus gives 70hp and 20Nm more than the standard R8 Spyder V10, giving it a total of 610hp and 560Nm of torque coupled with a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. The enormous power is sent to the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system .
The beast can hit 0-100kmph time of 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 328kmph , are 0.3seconds faster and 10kmph more than the R8 Spyder V10, Ultimately the R8 Spyder V10 Plus runs 8 kilometres per litre of fuel. The same engine also powers the Lamborghini Huracan range, albeit in different states of tune.
The V10 Spyder plus looks gorgeous with the new Micrommata Green body paint and carbon fibre accents all around. It also available with 11 other paint schemes with matte-effect as well. The soft-top is available in three colours. The other exterior bits of the Plus treatment is finished in anthracite black.
Exterior sports the wide and flat Singleframe grille with gloss honeycomb mesh, chrome-plated frame and the Audi Sport emblem. Optional Audi laser light in the LED headlights, anodised blue dividers as well as the dynamic turn signals are all part of the front look.
Inside the cabin is the leather steering wheel with integrated multifunction buttons as well as two large control satellites. It can be used to start and stop the engine and control Audi drive select. Two more buttons including a rotary wheel are used to control the performance mode and the exhaust flaps.
The cabin gets Nappa leather upholstery with bucket seats as standard.
Matching the exterior, you get green contrast stitching on the seats, centre armrests, doors and floor mats with luminous colour . Audi connect module enables fast internet access via LTE. Its also offers navigation with Google Earth and Google Street View. There is also support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for seamless smartphone connectivity. The infotainment system comes mated to a Bang & Olufsen sound system with two loudspeakers mounted on the head restraints of both the seat.
The space frame is made out of a combination of aluminium components and carbon fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP). Get the driver out, and the car weighs just 1,695kg while the dry weight is 1,587kg, 25kg lighter than the Audi R8 Spyder V10. The aluminium parts make up 79.6 percent of the weight of the car, with the cloth top weighing 44kg.
The Plus weighs 25 kg less than Audi R8 Spyder V10, 167kg more than the Lamborghini Huracán Spyder and 83kg less than the Porsche 911 Turbo.
The large 12.3-inch, fully digital Audi virtual cockpit presents all information using 3D graphics. It also has a gear shift indicator with showing output, torque, g-forces, lap times and the temperatures of the tyres, engine and transmission oil.
The soft-top of the R8 is made of fabric, and weighs only 44 kilograms. An electrohydraulic drive can open-close the soft-top in just 20 seconds at speeds up to 50kmph
While Audi has started taking orders for the R8 Spyder V10 Plus in Germany . The Spyder V10 Plus will most likely come to India. The coupe in India is priced at Rs 2.55 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). With addition to tax structures ,we expect it to cost around Rs 2.8 to 3.1 crore.
