Hyderabad seems to have to put its troubles with the state bifurcation firmly behind itself. After years of political uncertainty in which the tech companies stayed away from the capital, the resolution of the Telengana dispute seems to have brought them back in droves.

Close on the heels of Google announcing that it would set up its 2nd largest campus worldwide in Hyderabad, Amazon today announced that it will set up its biggest non US campus in the city. The Telangana government has allotted 10 acres to the retail giant in Nanakramguda locality, and the construction is expected to start soon. The Ministry of Environment and Forests has given its clearance for the 2.5 million square foot facility.
This development has been expected to bring software, IT and analytics jobs to the city.
Hyderabad already houses a 280,000 sq. Amazon’s fulfillment center in its outskirts, one of the 11 fulfillment centers the company has across the country.
Amazon has not yet clarified the company plans, and declined the reveal the investment size or the timeline of the new facility. However, Amazon is betting big on India, and launched Amazon.in. CEO Jeff Bezos has also committed to investing $2.3 billion in India to take on local rivals like FlipKart, SnapDeal and PayTM.
