Nissan launched an updated version of its highest selling hatchback Micra with some new features today. the New Micra facelift is the fourth generation Micra in India. Its price tag is about starting at ₹5.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and available over 6 variants. Nissan Micra is exported to more than 106 countries from India and also the country’s most exported car.
In India, the car was launched in July 2010 and has sold over 80,000 units. Micra was the first Made in India car by Nissan. The 2017 model year gets the same engine lineup – a 1.5 litre in-line diesel and a 1.2-litre in-line petrol engine. The petrol unit gives a top power output of 76bhp at 6,000rpm and 104Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. On the other hand, the diesel variant produce power of 63.1bhp at 4,000rpm and a peak torque of 160Nm at 2,000rpm with claimed fuel economy of 23.08 kmpl for diesel variant, while the claimed mileage of the CVT variant is 19.34 kmpl. The hatchback is available with both a 5-speed manual (diesel only) and a CVT gearbox (petrol only), while maintaining a top speed of 160kmph.
Interiors of the new Micra feature an all-black theme with orange linings and centre console surround, Follow me headlamps, lead me to car features, Daytime Running Lamps, revised headlamp as well as tail lamp clusters and refreshed bumpers. Nissan Micra is the first to sport with automatic headlamps and rain sensing wipers in its segment. It also features I-key with push button start /stop function and shortest turning radius of 4.65m same as existing Micra.

The Micra competes with hatchbacks kings of india like the Maruti Ignis, Swift 2017, Grand i10 , Elite i20, and Volkswagen Polo.
The new fourth-generation Micra shows more attractive package than the earlier car. However, we expect Nissan to introduce the fifth-gen Micra in the country.
The fifth generation micra looks completely different to the current hatchback. Now, we are left with no other option except wait till next year to see if Nissan brings fresh appeal and advanced models . For now, let’s see if the new Micra attracts new customers with this features.
