Nothing Phone 1 was released on 12th July 2022, sparking many discussions. Nothing released a pre-launch video showcasing its all new Glyph interface.
The phone has many stunning features such as a 4500 mAH battery which supports 45W fast charging, Snapdragon 778 G+ processor , 50MP + 50 MP camera and 16MP front cam which will run on Android 12 OS. The phone has a buttery smooth 120Hz display. But it’s brand new glyph interface is the new buzz. The glyph interface is placed at the back panel. It is a collection of LED lights showing charge percentage, call notifications, wireless charging engagements and more! In addition to the LED interface panel, the back of the phone contains a dual camera and a red dot video recording indicator.
The glyph interface has five lighting strips, which contains over 900 leds ( source : Youtuber Marcques Brownlee). The interface can be controlled using settings menu from the phone. The users state that the LEDs will glow together or individually depending on the function, like who is calling or battery indication.
Using the setting menu, users can utilize flip-to glyph feature which works only when the phone is flipped upside down. The light pulses when a call is coming and during notifications. The user can adjust the brightness of the LEDs, or set default ringtones for their favourite ringtones using the setting menu and the lighting strips will sync according to the pre-set conditions! The interface can also be turned on and off or scheduled to be turned on and off during different times of the day.
The phone is priced different for each size variant. The 8GB RAM 128 GB storage phone is priced at Rs.32,999, and the 8GB RAM 256GB storage phone is available for Rs.35,999 while the 12GB RAM, +256 GB storage phone is priced at Rs.38,999. The phone can be purchased from Flipkart.
